1. Discipline practiced
The type of combat sport influences the choice of the bag:
-
Traditional Boxing: shorter bags, ideal for training arms, shoulders, and torso.
- Speedball and teardrop bag → perfect for uppercuts
- Water bag → simulates a real body
- Cylindrical bag → versatile for any combination
- Kickboxing and Muay Thai: long bags for striking down to low kicks. Knees? A medium bag is better.
- MMA and functional training: use versatile bags or those specific for ground-and-pound.
2. Bag weight
- Speed training: 20–30 kg → greater oscillation, also ideal for dodging
- Power training: 40–60 kg → less oscillation, absorbs more impact
3. Mounting height
- The center of the bag should be at the user's shoulder height
- For long bags (170–180 cm): base close to the ground for training low kicks
4. Structures and additional mounts
- Bag spring: dampens vibrations
- Wall mount: keeps the center of the room clear, allows for angled strikes
- Ceiling mount: allows for 360° oscillation, ideal for footwork
- Speed bag platform: height-adjustable, solid mounting
- Swivel mount: smooth movement of the speed bag in every direction
Supply and accessories
- All bags (except for the water bag) are sold pre-filled
- 40 cm chains and swivel included
- Speed bags and speedballs: deflated inner tube + spare included
Pay attention to installation
For wall or ceiling mounts, use appropriate anchors based on the material of the wall or beam. Safety starts with the structure!
